    Psalm 96.
    Cantate Domino canticum novum

    The recording below is based on the Sarum Psalm tones as presented in the St. Dunstan’s Plainsong Psalter. It is chanted to Tone VIII 1. The Westminster Abbey Choir, conducted by Martin Neary, sings the setting of Psalm 96 by Osborne H. Peasgood (1902-1962), who was the organist at the Abbey for many years. He was at the keyboard for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. The organist on this recording is Andrew Lumsford.

    The recording below is based on the Sarum Psalm tones as presented in the St. Dunstan’s Plainsong Psalter. It is chanted to Tone V 3. Psalm 93 is chanted here by the choir of King’s College, Cambridge; David Willcocks is the conductor and organist. The setting is by George Mursell Garrett (1834-1897).

    The recording below is based on the Sarum Psalm tones as presented in the St. Dunstan’s Plainsong Psalter. It is chanted to Tone IV 4. This rendering of Psalm 80 by the Norwich Cathedral Choir includes two different chant settings by the choir’s director Michael Nicholas. The organist is Neil Taylor. Below, the Lincoln Cathedral Choir sings a setting by Joseph Barnby (1838–1896). The organist is Charles Harrison, and the conductor is Aric Prentice.

    Plainchant setting The recording below is based on the Sarum Psalm tones as presented in the St. Dunstan’s Plainsong Psalter. It is chanted to Tone VII 2. Psalm 34 is chanted here in a setting by Walter Alcock (1861-11947). The Choir of Guildford Cathedral is directed by Barry Rose in this recording from a 1970 Evensong at the Cathedral.
