Plainchant setting
The recording below is based on the Sarum Psalm tones as presented in the St. Dunstan’s Plainsong Psalter. It is chanted to Tone VIII 1.
Anglican chant setting by Heathcote Dicken Statham (1889–1973)
Since Psalm 68 is so long (35 verses), it is often chanted to multiple settings. In the recording below featuring the Norwich Cathedral Choir, director Michael Nicholas has selected settings by Henry Lawes (1596-1662), Edward Elgar (18757-1934), James Turle (1802-1882), Charles Hylton Stewart (1884-1932), and Henry Smart (1813-1879). The organist is Neil Taylor. (Another compilation of chant settings for all of Psalm 68 is on this page.)
